Guilty on all three counts is what the jury has decided in the trial of Hunter Biden. But, what exactly does that mean? The man has been charged with not only lying on a federal firearms form to obtain the weapon under false pretense, but also possession of that firearm while allegedly being addicted to crack.
The justice system is flawed. That is something we can likely all agree on. What one man is thrown in federal prison for another walks free. The consistency within this branch of government is less than optimal. As Hunter faces up to twenty-five years in prison for the guilty verdict(s) in his case, will justice actually be served?
Hunter has no doubt had some serious issues. Being an alleged addict is nothing to be taken lightly. Having compassion for the situation is one thing, but understanding that actions have consequences is another.
Being the son of a career politician in Washington, DC inherently comes with its advantages. Is consistently being above the law one of them? We will need to wait to see how sentencing goes to know for sure.
